Our Experience - Île d'Orléans
Located just minutes from Old Québec, Île d'Orléans is one of the region's most rewarding day trips. Connected to the mainland by a single bridge, the island feels like stepping into a quieter, slower-paced world filled with rolling farmland, charming villages, local artisans, and spectacular views of the St. Lawrence River.
The best way to experience the island is by taking the scenic loop drive that circles its shoreline. Along the way you'll discover family-run farms, wineries, cideries, chocolatiers, bakeries, cheese shops, fruit stands, and countless scenic overlooks. Every few miles seems to reveal another delicious stop or beautiful viewpoint, making the journey just as enjoyable as the destinations themselves.
For us, Île d'Orléans became one of the highlights of our Québec trip. The combination of incredible local food, friendly family businesses, and peaceful countryside created a relaxing experience that felt completely different from exploring Québec City's historic streets just a short drive away.
Whether you're a foodie, photographer, wine lover, or simply looking for one of the most scenic drives in Québec, Île d'Orléans is a destination that deserves a full day on your itinerary.
