How We Ranked the Ballparks
There's something special about experiencing America's pastime in different corners of the country. From century-old cathedrals of baseball to state-of-the-art modern ballparks, every Major League stadium tells a different story about its city, its fans, and the game itself. One of our long-term goals at Jet2Gether is to visit all 30 Major League Baseball stadiums, documenting the experience along the way and helping fellow baseball fans plan unforgettable road trips of their own.
These rankings aren't based solely on history, architecture, or reputation. They're based on one simple question: If we could only attend one game at each of these stadiums this season, which ballpark would deliver the best overall experience? Comfort, atmosphere, views, food, value, accessibility, surrounding neighborhoods, and overall game-day enjoyment all play a role in our rankings. History certainly matters—but a great baseball experience is about far more than what's written in the record books.
Throughout this article, we'll share what made each stadium memorable, where we think there's room for improvement, and plenty of practical tips to help you make the most of your own visit. What Makes Oracle Park Unique?
Oracle Park's waterfront setting is one of the most spectacular locations in all of baseball, with McCovey Cove sitting just beyond right field. When a Giants player sends a home run sailing into the water, the fun doesn't stop when the ball lands—kayakers race toward the splash zone hoping to snag the souvenir. Add in the cool bay breeze, San Francisco skyline, and possibility of a splash hit, and Oracle Park has a personality that simply can't be duplicated. The waterfront isn't just something you can see from the stadium; it's an active part of the game-day experience.

Oracle Park is the rare ballpark where we genuinely struggled to find anything to criticize. From its stunning location directly on San Francisco Bay to the incredible views, comfortable experience, interesting food options, and convenient public transportation, everything about a game here just works. The cool breeze coming off the bay only adds to the experience, especially on a warm afternoon or evening, and there's something undeniably special about watching baseball with the water stretching beyond the outfield.
What ultimately sets Oracle Park apart is how effortlessly all of these elements come together. It's beautiful without sacrificing comfort, historic-feeling without feeling outdated, and packed with personality without becoming gimmicky. The waterfront setting gives the entire park a sense of place that few stadiums can replicate, while the excellent sightlines and comfortable seating mean you're never sacrificing the actual baseball experience for the scenery. Even getting to and from the stadium is easy thanks to the excellent public transportation options, making the entire game-day experience feel remarkably stress-free.
And then there's the simple fact that Oracle Park is just ridiculously fun. Watching a game here doesn't feel like you're simply sitting in a stadium waiting for nine innings to pass. There's always something to look at, from the bay and boats beyond the outfield to the occasional splash hit, and the cool breeze rolling through the park makes the atmosphere feel completely different from almost anywhere else in Major League Baseball. The combination of scenery, baseball, food, comfort, location, and atmosphere is about as close to a perfect ballpark experience as we've found.
Oracle Park is the only stadium we've visited where we've awarded five stars in every single category. That's ultimately why it sits at #1. There are plenty of other ballparks with incredible history, impressive architecture, fantastic food, or spectacular views—but Oracle Park manages to deliver all of it at once. Until another stadium manages to knock it off its perch, this is our gold standard for a day at the ballpark.

Arrive early and take your time exploring the waterfront around the stadium. Oracle Park is one of those ballparks where the experience extends well beyond your seat, and the views of San Francisco Bay are worth arriving early to enjoy before first pitch. And don't forget a light layer—the bay breeze can be wonderfully refreshing, but temperatures can change quickly once the sun goes down.

What Makes Petco Park Unique?
Rather than demolishing the historic Western Metal Supply Co. warehouse during construction, the Padres built the stadium around it. Today, the century-old brick building forms the left field corner and even serves as the foul pole, housing suites, restaurants, and rooftop seating while preserving one of San Diego's historic landmarks. As if that weren't enough, fans can even enjoy the stadium's famous banana pudding served inside a collectible replica of the iconic building—a delicious nod to one of baseball's most creative architectural features.

Petco Park delivers one of the most complete game-day experiences in Major League Baseball. From the moment you step off the San Diego Trolley or stroll over from a nearby hotel, it feels like the ballpark is woven directly into the city rather than simply dropped into it. Located in the heart of the vibrant Gaslamp Quarter, the surrounding restaurants, breweries, rooftop bars, and waterfront all contribute to making a Padres game feel like an all-day event rather than just three hours of baseball.
Inside the gates, Petco Park continues to impress. The stadium offers an outstanding variety of food and drink options that go well beyond typical ballpark fare, showcasing many local San Diego favorites alongside creative specialty items. Our personal highlight was the famous banana pudding, served in a collectible replica of the historic Western Metal Supply Co. building. It's one of those uniquely memorable ballpark treats that's every bit as fun to eat as it is to take home as a souvenir.
The stadium itself is equally impressive. The integration of the century-old Western Metal Supply building into the ballpark's design gives Petco a character unlike any other stadium in baseball. Combined with beautiful views of the downtown skyline beyond the outfield, the ballpark strikes a wonderful balance between historic architecture and modern amenities. Comfortable seating, excellent sightlines, and easy-to-navigate concourses make it just as enjoyable to explore as it is to settle in and watch nine innings.
So why does Petco Park come in at #2 instead of taking the top spot? Simply put, Oracle Park is one of the few stadiums we've visited that feels nearly impossible to improve upon. Petco comes incredibly close and excels in almost every category, but Oracle's breathtaking waterfront setting, iconic McCovey Cove, and overall atmosphere give it the slightest edge. Even so, Petco Park is an absolute must-visit for any baseball fan and easily ranks among the very best ballparks in Major League Baseball.

If you're spending the day in San Diego, skip the car altogether. Petco Park is one of the easiest stadiums in baseball to reach by foot or public transit, and the surrounding Gaslamp Quarter is packed with restaurants, breweries, and nightlife. Arrive a few hours before first pitch, explore the neighborhood, then make your way into the stadium hungry as you'll want plenty of time to sample the excellent food offerings before the first pitch.

What Makes Fenway Park Unique?
The Green Monster (Monstah) isn't just Fenway Park's signature feature - it's arguably the most iconic landmark in all of Major League Baseball. Combined with the towering CITGO sign beyond left field, Pesky's Pole, and over a century of baseball history, Fenway feels less like a stadium and more like a living museum where the game's past and present meet every night.

There simply isn't another place in baseball quite like Fenway Park. Walking through the gates feels like stepping into a time capsule, where nearly every brick, beam, and seat has a story to tell. The ballpark embraces Boston's personality in every way imaginable - from the passionate fans and neighborhood atmosphere to the unmistakable charm of "pahking the cah at Fenway Pahk." Whether you're a lifelong Red Sox fan or visiting Boston for the first time, catching a game here is an experience every baseball fan should have at least once.
The atmosphere is among the best in baseball. Regardless of where the Red Sox sit in the standings, the crowd brings an energy that's loud, passionate, and unmistakably Boston. Add in the iconic Green Monster, the glowing CITGO sign beyond left field, and one of the best transit-connected locations in Major League Baseball, and it's easy to understand why Fenway remains one of the sport's most celebrated destinations.
That said, Fenway's greatest strength is also one of its biggest weaknesses: it's OLD. While the historic character is unmatched, the century-old design comes with compromises. The seating is by far the least comfortable we've experienced in Major League Baseball, with extremely limited legroom and narrow seats that can make nine innings a challenge, particularly for taller fans. The Green Monster itself is still one of baseball's greatest sights, although we do miss when it wasn't covered in advertisements.
Despite its flaws, Fenway Park remains a bucket-list destination and one of baseball's true cathedrals. While it may not offer the modern comfort of newer ballparks, its history, atmosphere, and unmistakable sense of place make it impossible to leave off the top tier of any Major League stadium ranking.

Skip the rental car if you can. Parking around Fenway is limited, notoriously expensive, and often fills quickly, while the MBTA makes getting to the ballpark fast and convenient. Before purchasing your tickets, check the 3D seat viewer or websites like A View From My Seat to avoid seats with obstructed views as Fenway's historic design includes numerous support beams that can significantly impact your sightline. Taller fans may also want to consider the bleachers, which offer noticeably more legroom than many of the historic grandstand sections.

What Makes T-Mobile Park Unique?
T-Mobile Park features one of the most impressive retractable roofs in baseball. Unlike a traditional enclosed dome, the massive roof simply slides over the seating bowl while leaving the stadium open to the outside air, allowing games to be played comfortably through Seattle's frequent rain without sacrificing the feel of an outdoor ballpark. It's an elegant solution that's become one of the stadium's defining features.
Why We Ranked T-Mobile Park #4
T-Mobile Park quickly became one of our favorite stadiums thanks to its thoughtful design and incredibly enjoyable game-day experience. Getting to the stadium couldn't be much easier, whether you're taking Seattle's light rail or simply walking from many downtown hotels and attractions. We even stumbled upon an excellent pho restaurant just a block away before first pitch—a perfect reminder that one of the best parts of visiting this ballpark is how seamlessly it blends into the surrounding city.
Inside, T-Mobile Park strikes a wonderful balance between modern comfort and Pacific Northwest character. The retractable roof is an engineering marvel, allowing games to continue rain or shine without completely enclosing the stadium. Even when the roof is closed, it still feels remarkably open and airy rather than like a traditional dome, preserving much of the outdoor baseball atmosphere that makes summer games so enjoyable.
The fan experience throughout the game was excellent. Sightlines from our seats along the first base line were outstanding, making it easy to follow every pitch and play on the field. While the views beyond the outfield aren't quite as dramatic as some of the waterfront or skyline ballparks we've visited, the stadium more than makes up for it with comfortable seating, an easy-to-navigate layout, and a wide variety of food and beverage options throughout the concourses.
One of our favorite touches came after the Mariners hit home runs. The combination of fireworks, synchronized lighting effects, and energetic crowd atmosphere added an extra layer of excitement that made every big moment feel like an event. T-Mobile Park may not have one defining landmark that steals the show, but it excels in nearly every category, creating one of the most polished and enjoyable baseball experiences we've had anywhere in Major League Baseball.

Take advantage of Seattle's excellent public transit and skip driving altogether. T-Mobile Park is just a short walk from the light rail station and downtown Seattle, making it easy to pair a Mariners game with a day exploring Pike Place Market, the waterfront, or the nearby International District. If you're looking for a pregame meal, venture a block or two away from the stadium—you'll find fantastic local restaurants that are just as memorable as the food inside the ballpark.

What Makes Great Dodger Stadium Unique?
Perched high above downtown Los Angeles, Dodger Stadium has welcomed fans since 1962 and remains the largest ballpark in Major League Baseball by seating capacity. Its hilltop location provides beautiful mountain views beyond the outfield while giving the stadium a distinct identity unlike any other park in baseball. Few venues combine such rich history with such a picturesque natural setting.
Why We Ranked Dodger Stadium #5
Few ballparks can match the history and atmosphere of Dodger Stadium. As the third-oldest stadium in Major League Baseball, it has been home to countless iconic moments, and that history is immediately apparent the moment you walk through the gates. The setting is equally impressive, with beautiful views of the San Gabriel Mountains rising beyond the outfield, creating one of the most recognizable backdrops in baseball.
Despite its age, getting to the stadium was surprisingly easy thanks to the free Dodger Stadium Express bus from Union Station. We highly recommend taking advantage of this service, as it removes the stress of navigating Los Angeles traffic and parking. Once inside, the crowd brought exactly the kind of electric atmosphere you'd expect from one of baseball's most passionate fanbases. Whether it was a routine strikeout or a game-changing home run, the energy inside the stadium made every inning feel exciting.
That said, Dodger Stadium wasn't without its frustrations. Like many older ballparks, comfort is a bit behind newer stadiums, but our biggest complaint was surprisingly the seating layout. The upper deck section numbering is genuinely confusing, with Section 1 directly behind home plate and then even-numbered sections extending down one side while odd-numbered sections run down the other. It's an unintuitive system that seemed to confuse nearly everyone around us. We watched countless fans—including ourselves—head to the wrong section before realizing their mistake, and even found other fans sitting in our seats after making the same understandable error.
Even with those quirks, Dodger Stadium remains one of baseball's true bucket-list destinations. Between the mountain views, historic atmosphere, passionate fans, and easy transit access, it's impossible not to appreciate the experience. While a few modern conveniences and a more intuitive wayfinding system would elevate the visit even further, there's no denying the magic of spending an evening watching baseball at one of the sport's most iconic venues.

Skip the hassle of driving and take the Dodger Stadium Express from Union Station. It's free with your game ticket, drops you off just outside the stadium, and is one of the easiest ways to avoid Los Angeles traffic. Once inside, give yourself a little extra time to find your seats. What Makes Chase Field Unique?
When Chase Field opened in 1998, it became the first Major League Baseball stadium to feature a retractable roof over a natural grass field, making baseball in the Arizona summer not only possible, but comfortable. The stadium's enormous footprint and expansive seating bowl also make it one of the largest-feeling ballparks in the majors, creating a distinctly different atmosphere from more intimate stadiums.

Chase Field delivers a comfortable and enjoyable baseball experience, especially for anyone exploring downtown Phoenix. The stadium is conveniently located within walking distance of many downtown hotels, restaurants, and attractions, making it easy to spend the day exploring before heading to first pitch. Once inside, the retractable roof and climate-controlled environment provide a welcome escape from Arizona's desert heat, making summer baseball far more enjoyable than it otherwise would be.
One of the first things we noticed was just how massive the stadium feels. Chase Field has an incredibly wide footprint, and the sheer size of the seating bowl gives it a different feel than many other ballparks. Even from seats behind home plate in the upper deck, you feel surprisingly far removed from the action. The sightlines themselves were perfectly good, but the stadium's scale makes the game feel a little less intimate than at some of baseball's older parks.
The overall fan experience was solid throughout our visit. Food options leaned more toward classic ballpark favorites than unique local specialties, but there was still plenty to choose from. The concourses were spacious and easy to navigate, although we found parts of the interior to feel a bit darker than many newer stadiums. Still, comfortable seating and a clean, well-maintained facility made for a relaxing afternoon at the ballpark.
Ultimately, Chase Field is an easy stadium to enjoy, even if it doesn't have one defining feature that sets it apart. It offers a comfortable environment, convenient downtown location, and a dependable game-day experience from start to finish. While it lacks the iconic scenery or historic character of some of the stadiums ranked above it, it's still a very good place to spend an afternoon watching Major League Baseball.

If you're staying in downtown Phoenix, leave the car behind. Chase Field is an easy walk from many downtown hotels, restaurants, and the Valley Metro Light Rail, allowing you to skip parking altogether. Once inside, don't be afraid to take a lap around the concourse—the stadium is much larger than it first appears, and it's worth appreciating just how expansive the ballpark really is before settling into your seat.

What Makes Angel Stadium Unique?
The most recognizable feature of Angel Stadium is the towering rock formation and waterfall beyond the outfield fence. While it may not be as iconic as the Green Monster or McCovey Cove, the rocks have become synonymous with Angels baseball, erupting with water and fireworks after home runs and victories. Combined with the giant "Big A" sign outside the stadium, they're the ballpark's defining visual landmarks.

Angel Stadium is a perfectly pleasant place to spend an afternoon watching baseball, but compared to the other six ballparks we visited in 2025, it simply doesn't have a defining feature that elevates the overall experience. Getting to the stadium was incredibly easy thanks to plentiful parking and straightforward access from the surrounding highways, making it one of the least stressful stadiums to visit by car all season. Better yet, ticket prices were by far the most affordable of any game we attended, making it an excellent value for families or anyone looking to catch a Major League game without breaking the bank.
Inside the stadium, everything was...good. The seats were comfortable, the concourses were easy to navigate, and the concession options covered all the traditional ballpark favorites. Nothing was particularly disappointing, but nothing really stood out either. If you're looking for classic hot dogs, nachos, and popcorn while enjoying a baseball game, Angel Stadium delivers exactly what you'd expect.The food also deserves recognition. We tracked down The Machete, a two-foot-long quesadilla that's produced in very limited quantities each game. Not only was it delicious enough to feed multiple people, but it cost only a few dollars more than a single premium beer at some of baseball's more expensive ballparks. That's the kind of value we love finding while traveling.
The atmosphere, however, was noticeably quieter than many of the other stadiums we visited. Attendance at our game was fairly light, which made the experience feel a bit subdued compared to the packed crowds and electric energy found at places like Dodger Stadium, T-Mobile Park, or Oracle Park. That isn't necessarily a bad thing—some fans may even appreciate the relaxed environment—but it does make the overall experience feel a little less memorable.
In the end, Angel Stadium lands at the bottom of our 2025 rankings not because it's a bad ballpark, but because the others simply offered more memorable experiences. Affordable tickets, easy parking, comfortable seating, and a stress-free visit make it an enjoyable place to catch a game. It just lacks the unique history, iconic views, standout food, or signature atmosphere that helped separate the other stadiums on this year's list.

Parking is plentiful, getting in and out is relatively painless, and ticket prices are often among the most affordable in baseball. If you're simply looking for an easy, budget-friendly way to catch a Major League game during your trip, Angel Stadium is hard to beat.
